Project Description
Stichting Pallas and the municipality of Nijmegen have commenced the first research phase (initiation phase) for the realisation of the (re)development and renovation of an existing/former school building into a second Meander school building at Schependomlaan 83 in Nijmegen. The objective is to realise a renovated primary school, including daycare facilities, in the existing building within a normative budget yet to be determined, by 2023. In that case, the current location will be renovated and, where necessary, adapted/extended. On behalf of the municipality of Nijmegen, vb&t Projectmanagement, together with Faam Architects, has prepared a preliminary study, a construction cost budget, and a feasibility report to renovate the building into a school building. Two scenarios have been drawn up for this purpose, and the chosen scenario has been fully developed and costed. This variant assumes 8 classrooms and 2 rooms for the daycare centre, a large central hall and library, and sufficient group rooms/offices. In addition, an extension of approximately 450 m2 will be realised.
