Project Description

Stichting Vivent has realised a new activity centre for young people with dementia at the Mariaoord residential care complex. The activity centre has been realised indoors in the former mortuary. The rooms were very dated and had been empty for years. The renovation has resulted in a low-stimulation room, 2 activity rooms for clients, an accessible toilet, a meeting room, and an outdoor terrace. The floor finishes and ceilings have been replaced. The walls have been painted with colours appropriate for the care of the target group. In addition, the rooms have been fitted with extra window frames and rooflights, making them pleasant spaces to stay in. The design has taken into account this specific target group and the necessary facilities have been put in place to carry out activities safely and to provide the required care.
