Project Description

BrabantWonen has redeveloped the Nieuwe Hoeven complex, leased by BrabantZorg and located at Udensedreef 5 in Schaijk, for new construction. The clients have severe forms of dementia (ZZP5 and ZZP7) with associated behavioural issues. The Nieuwe Hoeven was developed with the idea that clients can live as normally as possible and have as much freedom as possible. Nature and being outdoors play a significant role in this.

The new development consists of 5 residential buildings in an L or Z shape. Each residential building has communal facilities such as a living room, kitchen, laundry room, and sensory bathroom and comprises 18 apartments with their own bathroom.

Next to the residential buildings, there will be a Community Centre. The community centre will house shared amenities such as a function room with a kitchen, a hairdresser, and a shop selling products from the New Hoeven development. Offices for support services will also be created on the first floor.

The site (above and below ground infrastructure) has been redeveloped based on the new layout of the Buurthuis and Kapschuur residential buildings and other structures and pathways, approximately 10,000 m² of site area. The turnaround time is concurrent with the construction phase.
