Project Description

The project is part of the redevelopment of the existing Steenweg Kwartier. The project consists of the renovation of the Scala cinema and the new construction of a multifunctional arts and education centre. Two prominent buildings were present on the site: the former Scala cinema (monument) and the Bavaria café on the corner. After the demolition of several shops, a new large hall and the Kunstkwartier Helmond were built. The four buildings are separated by atria, but remain functionally connected.
